Introcucing the North East Ultra 8 SKY RUNNER

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?  SKY RUNNER?

This challenge is for trail runners! For the next level athlete that has no problem doing each of these hikes in under 24 hours! For those that want to challenge themselves to see how fast they can complete each hike! You know who you are!

We have set strict time limits on each hike in the chart below. You must finish each run inside of these times to qualify for the Sky Runner Patch. The times are based on the known FKT's for each hike. The Fastest known times!  

The North East 8 runs, have been around for a long time. Each NEU8 run is an epic and legendary challenge on its own! Doing just one, of these INCREDIBLE runs is an epic accomplishment, for any runner Put these 8 runs together,  and they create a list, LIKE NONE OTHER, in the trail  running community! Each of the 8 runs, has its different time of origin, but other than the newly formed Saranac 6, that involves climbing 6 different mountains, the other 7 NEU8 runs involve a single, natural land formation, or body of water. These natural land formations, ridges, and lakes, have existed for Tens of Thousands of years. This challenge, has really existed, for a long, long, time. The North East Ultra 8 runs are nothing new. 

However, receiving a patch, if you can run all 8 in a really fast time, is something new! 

THE NEU8 SKY RUNNER challenge came about on, 11/1/2021

The North East Ultra 8 SKY RUNNER mails out finishing packages ONCE A YEAR in the first week of December in an attempt to award finishing numbers based on finishing dates.

3 MORE PATCHES:      Three of the North East Ultra 8 hikes, have their own, long standing clubs, each rewards their finishers, with a patch and certificate, for doing just that one hike! A testament, to how hard each one of these hikes are to complete, let alone in under 24 hours! The TCT, The CL50, and The Saranac 6, each have a patch available for those who complete those individual hikes. If interested you may contact each of those organizations, after completing each hike, to apply for their patch.

PETS:     Here at the North East 8, pets are human to us!! We recognize pets as just another hiker. They will be assigned an official finishing number just as any human!! Pets should be registered, like any other human, following the registration process!  

Which hike is the hardest?

The list below, of the Official 8 NEU8 hikes are listed in order of hardest to easiest, top to bottom, the Mahoosuc being the hardest, the Devils Path being the easiest. This is an opinion, based on the opinions of the top 10 NEU8 finishers. This is just an attempt, to help those, who are beginning this challenge. We advise starting with the easiest and working to the harder ones.
